So you say you don't have time to workout, right? I use to think the same thing. Most people are so busy these days to fit any kind of workout into their schedule. Many think that in order to get in a good workout on a regular basis you have to spend 30 minutes to an hour in a gym.
Who has time for that?
It's true... most experts do recommend getting at least 30 minutes of exercise 3 to 5 times a week. That can be a challenge if you have such a busy schedule.
But with hooping it can be done. I like the fact that you can fit it into any busy schedule.. especially if you break it down into a 10 minute workout.
Believe me... just 10 minutes of hooping can work wonders for your waistline!
It's easy to fit a 10 minute workout into your day. Hooping is one of those activities that allows anyone of any age to get a really good workout in only 10 minutes. Getting in these short bursts of exercise can help you shed unwanted pounds and if you do it on a regular basis, you can keep those pounds off for good.
Studies have shown that if you hoop for just 10 minutes you can burn 100 calories. Just think of the amount calories you could be burning if you hoop for 10 minutes 2 to 3 times a day. That's quite a bit of calories you could be losing rather than sitting around not being physically active.
You have no excuse by saying you don't have time to workout. There are many ways you can fit hooping into your busy schedule. Here are just a few ideas of my own.
1. Keep your hula hoop by your bed. When you get up first thing in the morning start hooping for 10 minutes. This is a good way to get your day started because it provides you the necessary energy needed throughout your day. If you don't have space in your bedroom to hoop, then try your living room.
2. Take your hoop to work.
If you have one those collapsible hoops with the push-button system,
you can take your hoop to work with you and use it during your break or
lunch. Many companies have their own workout facility so you can just
pop in for a quick 10 minute workout. If your company does not have a
workout facility then just use an empty conference room or the company
parking lot. You will be amazed at how people will want to join in on
the fun. It's a great way to improve your mood at work.
3. Play with your kids. Hooping is a wonderful way to get some play time with your kids and at the same time you can get in a good workout. :-)
4. Hoop for 10 minutes before bed-time. I have found that hooping before bed time helps you sleep better because you feel more relaxed.
The best way to stay consistent with your hooping is to create a schedule. By breaking your hooping workout into 10 minute blocks, makes it easy to schedule. It allows you to be realistic about the time you need to your exercise regimen.
Also, it helps to write down your schedule so you can commit to your exercise plan.
If you want to feel revived both physically and mentally, then you have to stick to your schedule. This is true with any workout you choose to do. Hooping consistently reduces stress and increases your mental well being. Your body releases endorphins that enhance your mood making you feel good.
I hate to admit it... but there were times when I would go a week or so without doing any exercise. I suffered for it too because my energy level was low and I was not in a good mood during the day. I'm pretty sure you have experienced the same thing. :-)
