World Hoop Day is a charity started in 2006 by Annie O'Keeffe and her husband Kevin. The organization gives away one-of-a-kind hula hoops to children in need around the world. It's a wonderful way of bringing joy, health, and a smile to children living in neighborhoods devastated by poverty.
They, also, started an international holiday, where every year hoopers around the world celebrate the circle by gathering in parks, beaches, community centers and schools to promote the need to stay fit by doing fun exercises.
So, what will you be doing on World Hoop Day - October 4, 2014? Will you be hooping?
It does not take a lot to be a part of the celebration. Even if you hoop for a few minutes on that day you will still be part of the community.
Happy World Hoop Day!
